How you will impact Ingevity
The Applications Engineer will provide technical support to promote the use and sale of specialty chemical products into the carbon technologies application areas. Duties will include the responsibility for developing and analyzing data related to control of evaporative emissions from fuel systems, as well as other liquid and gas phase carbon adsorption applications. Technical data, reports, and presentations will be prepared and presented to customers, as well as used internally.
Design, install and maintain automotive evaporative emissions test equipment and design experiments in order to generate data in support of the sale of bulk and specialty shaped activated carbon materials.
Work effectively with technical and sales team to address customer and regulatory issues.
Provide direct customer support on technical/quality issues, including troubleshooting and testing at customer sites.
Understand and educate customers on how activated carbon controls automotive evaporative emissions.
Coordinate outside contractors when needed for support of advanced applications projects.
What you need to succeed
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field is required. Advanced degree in Chemical Engineering or related field is desirable.
Industrial experience, or equivalent, of a minimum of 2 years is required.
Process/product development and technical knowledge in adsorption and related fields is desired.
Strong skills relative to customer contact and service, including excellent written and verbal communication.
