Applicants will be selected to fulfill current need and to fill an Applicant Pool for anticipated future needs as they become available.
What you need to succeed
Ingevity, Specialty Chemicals Division, Charleston South Carolina is seeking candidates for an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic position. Starting wages for this position are $29.33 per hour. Benefits include: Medical, Dental, Prescription, Vision, Life Insurance, Accident and Sickness, 401k, Pension, Short Term Incentive, Vacation, 13 paid holidays and tuition reimbursement.
Candidates must have safe work behaviors, follow safety policies and procedures and participate in plant safety programs. Candidates must be self-directed and able to work independently or in a team environment. Candidates must be able to follow work orders and verbal instructions. Candidates must be willing to work shift work and overtime when required.
Candidates must have either a high school diploma or GED and have completed either a technical school, apprenticeship program or have equivalent experience.
Candidates must have at least four years of experience in the industrial mechanical trade.
Must have experience with:
Pumps and other rotating equipment
Installation, operation, maintenance, modification, service and repair of miscellaneous industrial equipment
Operation of mobile equipment including fork-lifts, man-lifts, boom trucks
Operation of general hand tools and power tools
Precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and optical and laser alignment tooling
Blueprints and schematic drawings
The hiring process includes written and/or skills testing, drug testing, medical physical, background check and reference checks.
